I. Preparation Before On-Site Survey
Clarify the display screen type (indoor/outdoor), size, display content (text/video/graphics), and display method (synchronous/asynchronous).
Confirm the installation location (e.g., shopping mall, stage, transportation hub) and operating environment (temperature, humidity, corrosive gases, etc.).
Understand communication method requirements (e.g., distance between the display screen and the control computer, whether wireless transmission is needed).
II. Core Content of On-Site Technical Survey
Installation method: Confirm the specific type, such as wall-mounted, embedded, or suspended, and check the wall structure, load-bearing capacity, and available space.
For pole-mounted installation, check the geological conditions (e.g., sandy soil may lead to subsidence risk).
Obstacle check: Ensure there are no obstructions affecting the display effect; for indoor installations, avoid beams, and for outdoor installations, avoid trees or buildings.
Calculate whether the power supply circuit capacity meets the power requirements of the display screen (e.g., the power of a single P3 full-color screen is approximately 800W/m²).
Check cable parameters (number of cores, wire diameter, reserved length), and verify that existing cables meet standards (e.g., copper core wire diameter >= 4mm²).
Outdoor scenarios require a separate power switch and lightning protection device.
Synchronous system network cable length <= 100 meters; for longer distances, use fiber optic cables (reserve spare fiber optic cables);
Complex scenarios (such as theaters) require planning a multi-signal channel switching scheme.
Confirm whether other equipment (such as cameras, sensors) needs to be connected and check interface compatibility.
Assess construction requirements (scaffolding, cranes, etc.) and the responsible party (user or supplier);
Confirm whether the control computer is provided by the user to avoid hardware incompatibility issues. Environmental Adaptability Check
Indoor Scenes: Moisture-proof and waterproof (avoiding areas above water pipes), humidity must be <=65% RH;
Lightning Protection: Install lightning rods, grounding resistance <=4Ω;
Heat Dissipation: In high-temperature areas, configure air conditioning or forced ventilation systems;
Corrosion Protection: In coastal or chemical areas, use stainless steel materials and three-proof coatings;
Viewing Angle Optimization: Adjust screen height and tilt angle according to viewing distance (closest/optimal/farthest).
Take multi-angle photos of the site (including wall structure, power supply location, and surrounding environment) to provide a basis for design;
Record user's special requirements (such as irregularly shaped screens, transparent screens), and evaluate technical feasibility and cost increase.
Understand the location and prices of local steel and building materials markets in advance to optimize logistics and procurement costs.
III. Special Considerations for Outdoor LED Displays
Waterproof: Outdoor screens need to meet IP65 or above to prevent rainwater penetration;
Salt Spray Resistance: Use corrosion-resistant materials and regular cleaning plans in coastal areas.
Install surge protection devices (SPD), and use >=16mm2 copper core wire for grounding;
Regularly test grounding resistance to ensure <=4Ω to avoid lightning damage.
In high-temperature areas, use modular heat dissipation design, such as adding fans or liquid cooling systems;
In low-temperature environments, configure heating films to prevent short circuits caused by condensation.
For pole-mounted installations, wind load calculations are required (e.g., design to withstand a Category 12 typhoon);
For suspended installations, verify the load-bearing capacity of the steel structure (e.g., P5 screen weight is approximately 35kg/㎡).
